When the disc turns parallel to the flow direction, the valve opens and allows the medium to pass with low pressure loss. When the disc rotates to the closed position, it presses evenly against the PTFE seat, creating a reliable seal and preventing leakage. The concentric design ensures uniform contact between the disc and seat, reducing wear and extending service life.
