The steam trap primarily operates based on the density difference between steam and condensate, and the principle of buoyancy. Upon startup, condensate enters the valve body, the inverted bucket sinks, the valve opens, and condensate and air are rapidly discharged. When steam enters the valve, the inverted bucket rises due to buoyancy, causing the valve disc to close and preventing steam leakage. As steam condenses inside the valve, the buoyancy decreases, the inverted bucket sinks again, and the valve reopens to drain water. This process repeats cyclically, achieving stable drainage and effectively preventing steam loss, making it suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure, and continuously operating steam systems.
