A heat-sensitive element within the valve body expands or contracts according to temperature changes: when the condensate temperature is below the steam saturation temperature, the valve opens, rapidly discharging condensate and non-condensable gases; when the temperature rises close to the steam temperature, the element expands, closing the valve and preventing steam leakage.
