A screw pump is a type of positive displacement pump that uses one or more screws to move fluid through the pump. It is also known as an Archimedean screw pump or a progressive cavity pump. The primary components of a screw pump include a helical screw rotor (or screws) and a stator. Screw pumps are positive displacement pumps that transfer liquid or water along the screw shaft by use of one or more screws. To pressurize the fluid and transfer it into the system, these screws interlock. Within the cylinder's hollow, these screws reciprocate and interact with one another.
