Wall thickness inspection, on the outside of every bend
Wall thickness inspection happens on the formed part, not on the tube it started as. Pressing a fitting stretches the wall where it curves, and the thinnest point decides the pressure that fitting will take.

How wall thickness inspection is done
What the check is there to find, what is actually done with the instrument, and what leaves the factory with the goods.
What it catches
- Over-thinning on the outside of a bend, where forming stretches the wall most.
- Fittings pressed from tube lighter than the schedule the order called for.
- Uneven wall around a reducer, which shows as a leak under pressure later.
How it is run
- A micrometer and a thickness gauge are used on the formed part, at the points forming thins.
- Checked as part of the re-check on at least 10% of a finished quantity.
- Formed parts are gauged after pressing, and again in the finished-goods re-check. A thin wall is found on our bench, not on your site.
What you get
- Measurements are held against the order and can be reported with the goods on request.
- Tell us the schedule or the minimum wall your specification calls for. We confirm it against the part before you order.
Measured against
- Schedule and minimum wall(يُفتح في تبويب جديد) Wall is bought by schedule and delivered as a thickness, and forming changes the second without touching the first. We gauge the part, not the paperwork.
