1. What is a sanitary check valve?

Essentially, it's a valve that operates automatically using fluid pressure. Its core function is to ensure that the medium (liquid or gas)

flows in only one direction and prevent backflow. Once the outlet pressure exceeds the inlet pressure, the valve will immediately and automatically

close to prevent backflow contamination.

To meet stringent sanitary standards, it typically possesses the following characteristics:

Pure Material: The body is made of 304 or 316L stainless steel, corrosion-resistant and non-reactive to the medium.

Hygienic Design: The inner wall in contact with the medium is precision polished, and the structure has no dead corners, allowing for

complete drainage without residue or bacterial growth.

Reliable Sealing: Uses food-grade EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) elastic sealing materials,

which are high-temperature resistant and corrosion-resistant.

Easy Disassembly and Cleaning: Generally uses quick-release clamp connections, allowing for rapid disassembly for thorough cleaning and

disinfection.

2. What are its main uses?

Its main use can be summarized in one sentence: protecting upstream equipment and processes from backflow contamination while ensuring

absolute cleanliness.

Specifically, it manifests in the following key areas:

Food and Beverage Industry (Most Widely Used): In production lines for dairy products, beer, juice, and purified water, it is installed at the pump

outlet or between pipes to prevent fluid backflow from damaging the pump body during production stoppages, or to prevent contamination

from mixing different batches of products.

Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology (Most Stringent Requirements): In processes such as infusions, injections, fermenters, and cell culture,

backflow must be prevented to avoid cross-contamination and ensure the sterility and batch purity of pharmaceuticals.

Fine Chemicals and Cosmetics: In the production of high-value-added products such as emulsions, toothpaste, shampoo, and fragrances,

it prevents backflow from causing product proportioning errors or batch contamination.

Water Treatment Systems: In distribution systems such as purified water preparation and water for injection, it ensures the unidirectional

flow of water, preventing treated clean water from being contaminated by backflow.

In summary, sanitary check valves are indispensable safety guardians in high-cleanliness industries such as food and pharmaceuticals.

Through their stainless steel construction, seamless design, and automatic backflow prevention mechanism, they precisely control the

unidirectional flow of fluids while ensuring clean and uncontaminated pipelines. This effectively prevents backflow contamination,

protects critical equipment such as pumps, and ensures the purity and safety of the final product.
